Book week - Dress Up Day

Great Job!

Thanks to Mrs Aldridge and her team of students for making Book Week so awesome. We've enjoyed a very special book fair viewing, supported Room 7 with their visit and finished the week off with some great costumes. It was great to see the whole school in dress up on Friday at the parade ( even Mr Noble- Campbell was dressed up as Tigger!) Thanks to everyone in Room 24 who came in dress up - you are stars!

Cross Country

This photo was taken at the end of this years cross country. The course was pretty good this year as it went around Te Puru and just through Omana back through the forest to the finish. The course was fairly muddy as you can see. It was a good race for me because I managed to get a 4th place which is pretty good . My technique is to get into a good spot at the start and then play a Metallica song in your head for the rest of the race. Focusing on the song seems to let me run further and the I chose Metallica because they have good songs. When I finished I was so exhausted that it felt like I was going to faint and when they asked what house I was in I couldn’t quite remember for a few seconds. Overall I would have to say that this was my best cross country so far and we will have to see what college brings.

Helmet safety

week 2 term 3
Last week we went to talk with Mrs Garvey about road safety and how to ensure your helmet is safe to ride on the road.
We learnt how to see if you have your helmet strapped in right, this is how you do it.
Step 1: make a v shape with two of your fingers and put it in between your ears, that shows how much space you should have from the strap to your ears.
 Step 2: put 3 fingers above your eyebrows, your fingers must touch your helmet for it to be properly safe.
Step 3:  put one finger under your chin in between where your chin and the strap meet. If you can put your 1 finger in there and it is kind of tight, you have ensured your helmet is safe.

Talent show next week!

Don't forget to get your thinking hats on for your Talent Show act. Auditions for Years 1-4 will be every morning tea in week 2 at the hall. Room 7 will be performing their Apache dance with Room 18 to get the party started! Here's the link so you can practice at home.

Room 7&18 buddy class dance

Fun crazy Hppa

Last Thursday we went to HPPA cross country. We had a wicked day running though mud at Lloyd Elsmore athletics track. The course that we ran was very intense but we all did good. Josh got 35th place, Jackson got 24th and Adam got 1st in year 4 boys. Josh lost his shoe in the mud!

Our trip day

Roller bowling

On Wednesday 10th of September the year 3/4 classes are going tenpin bowling and roller skating. There will be a lot of forces and motion.
